Install Instructions For Harman Advance Tadpole Door Gasket (81"): 2-00-71611

When installing a new gasket on Harman stoves, there is a common issue where the door may not initial close all the way. This can be easily solved by a combination of factors:

  1. Do not use too much gasket cement, this will take up extra space needed to pack the gasket.
  2. Pack the gasket bulb nice and tight, this will allow extra clearance for the door.
  3. Back off the door latch slightly by loosening the bolt. Over time, the door gasket will compress, but while it's still new, this extra space will give your stoves door the clearance it needs to shut properly.

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.

  • In my previous email I was asking about the tadpole bulb style gaskets. Are these for wood or pellet stoves? Thanks agaib, Craig

    This is particular gasket is intended for pellet stoves.

  • Your Harman door gasket for the Advance for $34.99 doesn't give a length in the description. (It's quite a bit more expensive than the tadpole bulbstyle that's only 1/8" smaller.) Just need the length of the Advance to decide which would work best. Thanks, Craig

    This gasket is 81" in length and notched to contour around the bay door of the Advance so you don't have any puckering.
